How we verify a school fee

A fee appears on SchoolFeesNG only if it is written down on the institution's own website — its bursary page, its admissions circular, or a PDF hosted on its own domain. That is the entire rule, and we don't bend it.

What does not count, no matter how confident it sounds:

• A news site, blog, or "school fees" aggregator quoting a number.
• A forum post, WhatsApp screenshot, or social media comment.
• A regulator's summary or a third party's estimate.
• A figure visible only after logging into a student portal.
• Another school-fees website — including one of our own other sites, if we ever build one.

We checked 62 Nigerian institutions. Of those, 34 publish a fee figure we could confirm on their own domain, and those are the only schools with a page on this site. The other 28 publish nothing we could verify — the figure is behind a login, the page is empty, the domain blocks automated checks, or no fee page exists at all. Those schools get no page and no guessed number. They sit in an approval queue until the school itself publishes something, or until we find a way to read what's already there.

We would rather forfeit that search traffic than publish a number we can't stand behind. The entire value of this site is that every figure on it traces back to the school. One invented number would undo that for all of them.

What "stale" means

Some schools have published a fee schedule, but the most recent one on their own site is years old. We still show it — a school's own dated, stale figure is more trustworthy than an undated aggregator guess — but we mark it clearly and say how old it is, rather than let it read as current.

What "the source does not state a session" means

Some published schedules don't say which academic session they apply to. Rather than guess, we say so plainly on that school's page.
